Live Event Paintings
What is it?
A live painting is a dynamic piece of art created in front of guests as the event unfolds. It captures the details and energy of the day in one image and provides unique entertainment for your guests as well as a stunning heirloom!
It is most typically seen at weddings, galas, and large events but no occasion is too small!
A Honeysuckle Originals goal is to not only elegantly capture the ambiance and energy of the day, but it also effortlessly integrates intentional details and easter eggs that tie in personality and story making each piece as one of a kind as your story!

How Does It Work?
Book Your Consult
Please fill out the questionnaire at the bottom of the page and tell me a bit about what you are looking for (it's okay if you don't know for sure that's why I'm here to help figure that out!) Once we've narrowed it down you will receive an official proposal and agreement to review and sign to officially get us started!
We will then schedule a quick 30 minute consult. During this meeting, well get to know each other a bit, discuss your painting and all extra little details you'd like included, how this painting will look and feel in your home, day of timeline, and any other questions you may have!
Wedding/ Event Day
Once signatures and initial deposits are submitted you can sit back and relax! I will check in periodically before the big day to ensure that everything stays on track but other than that just
be in the moment and enjoy your day!
Set up typically happens 1-2 hours before the ceremony and I will paint for 6-8 hours capturing the event on canvas and engaging with the guests as they watch!
By the end of the event the painting will be ready for a "grand reveal" for you and your guests!
Finishing Touches
After the end of the night I take the painting to my studio for finishing touches, protective varnish, and framing! I take this extra time to make sure every special detail is included and the energy of the night is perfectly captured! Once the finishing touches are complete Studio photos are provided to ensure you everything is to your liking and its ready to hang in your home!
Receiving Your Painting
You will receive your masterpiece in 8-12 weeks to hang in your home, admire and reminisce on your special day!

Holiday dates and weekends are available under standard time & a half rates

Travel within Kansas City Area is no additional charge
Travel within 4 hours is charged at $100 per hour

How do I decide what size to get?
That's a great question! My goal is always to help you plan for a peice that will work well in your home and stand the test of time. that means there are several factors to consider when choosing a size.
What is the size of your wedding?
Will you hang it by itself or in a gallery wall?
Do you opt for oversized furniture/decor or a sleek minimal look?
We will go over these in your consult to ensure you love the final product as much as the process
Can You Paint AND Illustrate at my event?
Unfortunately, I am not able to do both in one day due to the time each takes on site, but If you are interested in both we can explore additional studio options to come up with a solution that works for you!
What Is Your Painting Style?
My live painting style is impressionistic and expressive with refined details, while guest illustrations favor an illustrative refined and editorial flare! This layered vibrant style allows me to capturing all the magic of the day while making sure to draw focus to the most important details!
What if my date is booked?
It's never too late to capture your moment! I offer post wedding portraits and guest illustrations based on photos from the event that's still offer that romantic and impressionistic style!
When Should I Book?
